When: March 7, 2010; 10:00am to 4:00pm

Where: Eye of the Dog Art Center, San Marcos, TX

Instructors: Gaye Lynn Hodgson + Terry Buck

Cost: $125.00 (includes lunch and all materials + firing – see below)

Materials: all materials for the one day workshop will be provided

  • the clay: Longhorn Red
  • texture tools : workshop  participants will construct tools for creating texture in clay, using everything from firebrick to flip flops

Firing: firing is included in the cost of the workshop. (The red earthenware that we will use for the workshop has a firing range from cone 06 to cone 1. Participants with access to this firing range may wish to fire their own work.)

Lunch: Eye of the Dog Art Center is famous for their fabulous food and delicious lunches.Yum!

In addition to the tools that workshop participants will be able to take away with them, we will construct some 3-D “sketches” using red earthenware.  Here’s a peek at some of the forms and textures that workshop participants will use as a springboard for their own inspired work in clay.
